apothicaire {noun}

c. 1325–75; Middle English  (< Old French ) < Medieval Latin apothēcārius  seller of spices and drugs, Late Latin:  shopkeeper, equivalent to Latin apothēc ( a ) shop, storehouse.

Apothicaire-Rochester began as an antique and new bathroom fixture shop. Which began as Historic Houseparts, which was established in 1980. Historic Houseparts is a shop that specializes in architectural salvage and restoration supplies, offering everything for the old (or new) house from hardware to stained glass; our line of restoraion products began to include natural cleaning products, which people loved, and so we kept adding more. When our bath shop, Period Bath Supply Company, opened up in 2010, we began adding more natural bath & body products to our inventory, because the people who seek out special treasures for their home like clawfoot tubs and antique sinks usually want something better than the cheap petroleum-based cleaning supplies found at the grocery store. So it grew, and we found that we loved discovering these new products and sharing them with our customers. And then came Apothicaire, where we have collected our favorite products in one place where they can shine. Because clean should be fun, don't you think?
